Capital Improvements Program
Comprehensive Program Services (CPS) was selected by the Wylde Center to provide full program management services in support of its multi-site Capital Improvements Program. Acting as an extension of the Wylde Center team, CPS led strategic planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, design coordination, and construction administration across all phases of work. From developing the initial work plan and facilitating team onboarding, to managing construction activities and project closeout, CPS ensured streamlined communication, financial transparency, and stakeholder alignment to keep the program on schedule, within budget, and reflective of Wylde Center’s mission.
Wylde Center’s Capital Campaign focused on enhancing five community greenspaces including Oakhurst Garden & Wylde Woods, Edgewood Learning Garden, Hawk Hollow, Sugar Creek Garden, and Mulberry Fields. The project included planning and initial design for elements at all five sites. CPS worked with Wylde Center to prioritize scopes to maximize the project budget. At the Oakhurst Garden, their existing office housed in a 1950’s duplex is now completely renovated and an addition was added to provide additional program space. The renovated office provides additional meeting space, multipurpose classroom, teaching kitchen, accessible restrooms, offices, storage, and outdoor gathering spaces. Site improvements include improved storm water drainage solutions, new garden entrance, new lawn for public engagement and events, and accessible pathways into the garden. CPS coordinated the planning, design, municipal reviews, and construction sequencing needed to execute these improvements.
Through this program, CPS helped the Wylde Center strengthen its role as a community resource, making each site more accessible, resilient, and supportive of environmental education. The improvements enhance outdoor classrooms, volunteer engagement spaces, and visitor experiences while preserving natural habitats and honoring donor investment through responsible budget stewardship. CPS’s structured management approach provides transparency, accountability, and efficiency, allowing the Wylde Center to remain focused on mission-driven programming while advancing long-term sustainability, community value, and organizational growth.
