15th Street Parking Deck + Infrastructure Improvements
CPS provided comprehensive program management services for Augusta University’s new five-story parking deck on the southwest corner of the Health Sciences Campus. Supporting one of Georgia’s most vital academic medical hubs, this project enhances mobility, safety, and long-term campus functionality while reinforcing CPS’s dedication to delivering strategic, high-impact solutions for university clients across the state. With 1,350 total parking spaces, the structure significantly increases campus-wide capacity and improves access for AU faculty, staff, and students. Located adjacent to Oak and Elm Residence Halls, the deck positions parking closer to the heart of the Health Sciences Campus, reducing congestion, strengthening pedestrian safety, and improving overall campus flow.
The parking deck is more than a place to park. It is an infrastructure investment designed with both immediate needs and long-term adaptability in mind. The project incorporates a range of key features, including a perimeter deterrent system that enhances safety on the top deck, as well as comprehensive access control and security upgrades such as card readers, gate arms, security cameras, and blue-light call stations. EV charging stations and built-in infrastructure allow for future expansion, while a parking counter system provides real-time availability tracking. Its strategic location further improves connectivity and overall movement across the Health Sciences Campus.
Every design element was carefully planned to create a safer, more intuitive, and more efficient user experience for campus stakeholders. This project reflects CPS’s proven ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, align with Board of Regents requirements, and support complex higher education infrastructure improvements from planning through construction.
Working closely with Augusta University leadership and the project’s design and construction partners, CPS helped ensure the deck met all operational needs while remaining cost-efficient, functional, and future-ready. By combining strategic foresight, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of AU’s campus dynamics, CPS helped deliver a facility that strengthens accessibility, supports institutional growth, and enhances the everyday campus experience for thousands of users.
