Academic Building Addition
Academic Building Addition
CPS provided program management services for the University of North Georgia’s Academic Building Expansion at the Cumming Campus. This 30,000-square-foot addition exemplifies CPS’s ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects within the University System of Georgia under the oversight of the Board of Regents. The project reinforces CPS’s long-standing relationships with higher education clients across the state, built on trust, collaboration, and a deep understanding of each institution’s unique processes, preferences, and goals.
This expansion allows UNG to introduce new bachelor’s degree programs in Cumming, supporting future enrollment capacity for up to 2,200 students—particularly in high-demand healthcare and technology-focused fields. Healthcare offerings are supported by new state-of-the-art simulation spaces that enhance hands-on training and prepare students for real-world clinical environments. Additional programs include elementary and special education, nursing, computer science, and business administration. The addition of these programs reflects UNG’s commitment to meeting regional workforce needs and aligns with the university’s strategy to supercharge workforce development across its five campuses.
The new facility seamlessly integrates with the existing Cumming campus, expanding instructional capacity while enhancing the overall student experience. Flexible classrooms, collaboration zones, and student gathering areas were designed to encourage interaction and promote academic engagement. The layout carefully connects old and new spaces to create a unified, intentional, and student-centered environment. By combining strategic foresight, collaborative problem-solving, and technical expertise, CPS helped deliver a facility that strengthens UNG’s academic mission and demonstrates the value of thoughtful, client-centered program management.
