Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport,
Central Passenger Terminal Complex (CPTC), Fire Alarm/Fire Suppression/HVAC Replacement and Upgrades

This complex $40 million replacement project included the installation of new fire alarm and fire suppression systems across the 5.2 million square foot Central Passenger Terminal Complex, replacement of HVAC systems on the boarding levels of Concourses A, B, C and D, and the installation of a new Building Management System on Concourses A, B, C and D. CPS coordinated installation of these systems with the installation of the HVAC system work. As a result of this project, CPS was instrumental in defining the new standards for airport lighting, HVAC systems, fire alarm systems, and building management control systems. This project required extensive work coordination throughout the four concourses. CPS coordinated access to every required workspace. The HVAC work scope included replacement of 68 roof-mounted units. Installation required over 135 crane lifts, which required coordination with the FAA, in the busy boarding gates of world’s busiest airport – all while keeping everything fully operational.
